Gold at 150M/tael: Why Women Shouldn’t Wait Any Longer

Gold bars and coins representing gold at 150M/tael price level in Vietnam

Gold at 150M/tael is the number every Saigon woman is watching this week, but the real story isn’t the price — it’s the hesitation around it. This morning I’m sitting in my usual cafe, and two women next to me are talking about gold prices. One says “let’s wait for it to drop more”, the other says “buying now would be crazy”. I smile. Because I know — the way they’re talking about this is exactly why many Saigon women still hesitate about personal finance.

Yesterday I read the gold price news. The numbers aren’t what made me pause. It was the question behind them: What are you waiting for?

📌 What’s Happening

Gold at 150M/tael means the domestic market is moving sideways this week — not crashing, not spiking, just holding steady near that threshold while global prices show early signs of recovery from their lowest point since early 2026.

  • Global gold prices opened the new week with light recovery signals after dropping to the lowest level since early 2026
  • Domestic market continues moving sideways around the 150 million VND/tael threshold — neither rising nor falling significantly
  • Global trends show gold is recovering from an extended decline
  • Opportunity to restructure personal investment portfolios is opening up for retail investors

What Ho Alva Sees

When gold prices move sideways, it’s often a signal to act, not a reason to wait — the risk of “missing recovery” is quieter but just as real as the risk of buying at a peak.

Insight 1: We’re still afraid when it’s actually recovery time. Back in 2014-2015, I stood in The Gioi Di Dong and FPT Shop showrooms for 12 hours a day, handing out flyers, watching customer faces closely. I saw something very clear: Vietnamese women tend to act only when things become “obvious” — literally, when everyone already knows.

Gold prices dropped to their lowest point of the year. Now they’re starting a light recovery. This is not the time to “wait for it to get cheaper”. The market has sent a signal — the question is, are you listening?

Insight 2: Why is “moving sideways” more dangerous than “free fall”? When prices crash, everyone notices. When prices stay flat, you forget about it entirely.

From 2020-2022, when I led the Tech Review Team at Big E Co., we created content every single day — not because it was trending, but because of consistency. That 1 billion VND figure didn’t come from one viral moment; it came because every day, someone was watching. “Sideways movement” in gold means time — time to decide, time to correct past mistakes.

Insight 3: Financial independence is not a “someday” conversation. I have many sisters in the Saigon LadyBoss community (since April 2026), and we talk every week. The women who act early on gold or any financial tool aren’t doing it because they’re “already rich” — they’re doing it because they won’t wait for the perfect moment. Financial peace doesn’t come from waiting; it comes from acting while you still have choices.

🔍 Which Number Actually Matters

The number that matters isn’t 150 million — it’s the gap between the year’s lowest point and right now, because people who decided at the bottom already captured better pricing while others were still asking “what if it drops more?”

Gold has already recovered from that bottom, gently. But here’s what you need to understand — in the real world, people who decided at the lowest point already captured the opportunity of better pricing. Right now, looking at 150 million, you’re probably thinking “could it drop more?” or “did I miss the best time?” Both questions are wrong.

The right question is: “Do I want to build financial security starting from today, regardless of what the price is?” When you change the question, the real meaningful number isn’t the gold price — it’s the amount you’ll set aside each month, whether it’s 100k or 1 million VND.

I Once Was…

I once stood in a showroom and heard many women say: “When will I ever have money to buy gold?” Back then (2014-2016), I was just the person handing out flyers, but I listened to their fear — the fear that gold is only for people who are “already rich”.

Then, moving into Digital Marketing (2016-2018), I started seeing data. It showed that people who started saving gold early weren’t the richest — they were just the earliest to decide. As Senior Digital Marketing (2018-2020) and later Business Director (2022-2024), I kept seeing the same pattern: women never say “I’ll wait until I’m rich, then I’ll buy”. They say “today I’ll get one tael.” Today, not “someday”. That’s the difference.

You can see more about how I think about finance and business in this series — where I’m very clear: time is never a reason to wait, it’s a reason to act.

If you’re reading this at 6 AM or 11 PM, wondering whether to start a personal financial strategy, the answer is already in your gut. You don’t need my permission — just confirmation that right now is the right time. If you want to talk more, book a free consultation with me — no invoice, just real strategy.

Gold at 150M/tael won’t wait for you to feel ready, and neither should you. What are you waiting for, and will that waiting actually give you anything worth having?
